Angie Morgan - author/illustrator
About Angie Morgan
Angie was born in Bristol and studied Graphics and Illustration at Goldsmiths College. She didn’t follow a career in illustration on leaving college but did a variety of jobs including photographic styling and furniture painting. She always harboured a dream to illustrate for a living but somehow never had the space or time. Some years later she realised she had nothing to lose so she started writing to give herself something to illustrate, and found she enjoyed it and kept coming up with ideas (some better than others). Angie uses a variety of mediums in her work – pastels and charcoal, Photoshop, scanned ephemera and watercolour. She draws on her large collection of old letters, tins, fabrics, books and other bits and pieces inherited from her mother, to whom she's grateful for her hoarding instinct, which has left her with such a library of treasures to work with. She now lives in Bath and has 3 children and 2 grandchildren, 3 ducks, 2 chickens and 2 rabbits.Website
