Malachy Doyle grew up in Ireland, studied in England, raised a family in Wales, and has now returned to Ireland. He lives with his wife, Liz, on a tiny island off the coast of Donegal.
After a short-lived career in the heady world of advertising, Malachy dropped out of corporate life aged thirty to grow vegetables, chickens and children. A second career in special needs education followed, but by forty he was seized by the writing bug.
His teenage novel Georgie won the Tir na n-Og Prize; his non-fiction picturebook Cow won an English Association Award in that category; The Dancing Tiger won a Nestlé Children's Silver Book Award.
