Julia was born and grew up in London, at the edge of Richmond Park, where she spent many happy hours watching birds, butterflies and bunnies. Her mum, aunt and granny all wrote ridiculous poems to commemorate family events, so she can't remember a time when she didn't have a tendency to think in rhyme.
Julia spent some years working for Barclays Bank, trying to make the words Data Protection Legislation sound interesting, before deciding that writing about birds, butterflies and bunnies (and foxes, bears, mules...) was more her cup of tea.
