Angie was born in Bristol and studied Graphics and Illustration at Goldsmiths College in London. She didn't follow a career in illustration on leaving college, but did a variety of jobs including photographic styling and furniture painting. She always harboured a dream to illustrate for a living but somehow never had the space or time. Some years later she realised she had nothing to lose so she started writing to give herself something to illustrate, and found she enjoyed it and kept coming up with ideas (some better than others).
Angie's grateful for her mother's hoarding instinct, which meant she inherited a whole library of treasures - a collection of old letters, tins, fabrics, bits and pieces - which she incorporates in her work, along with the pastels and charcoal and watercolour.
