Brand new author Alessandra Requena's debut picture book The Boy Who Cried Poo! came out with Quarto in 2023. Packed with precisely the type of comedy young children so appreciate, it's stylishly illustrated by Guilherme Karsten.
Alessandra enjoys sunsets and long walks on the beach, but not too long, because she doesn't like sand. Come to think of it, sunsets fill her with ennui, so mornings are actually preferable.
She was most likely born in a hospital somewhere or other, but doesn't quite remember the specifics. She's quite sure it occurred. She spent her childhood running barefoot through flowery meadows. Or maybe laying on the couch watching The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Again, hard to be sure which, specifically.
Alessandra is an art school drop out. She lives in Toronto, Canada, with her two children. She isn't really passionate about anything in particular aside from a good story and an excellent pie crust.
